These Users Are Experiencing Android Auto Breakage Due to Android 14 Update
Android Auto is quite popular among users who rely on the system to work in their car and give them seamless access to their device on the screen. But recently, many users complained that Android Auto in wireless mode was broken when they installed the new Android 14 update on certain devices.
The problem especially affects those who use Samsung Galaxy phones and have recently updated to the new Android 14-based One UI 6.0 version. Galaxy phone owners have shared their issues on the Google forums as per this report, noting that Android Auto wireless no longer works on their phones.
Some users say that Android Auto is unstable, while others have seen it stop working completely after installing an update. Some Samsung users facing this problem have Galaxy S22+, Galaxy S22 Ultra and even the latest Galaxy S23 series models.
Google seems to have noticed the complaints about Android Auto’s problems in wireless mode, but people have pointed out that Android Auto still works properly when the cable is connected to the phone. The company has also seen some Pixel owners experiencing the same issue after installing the latest December 2023 Android update.
Although Google is aware of the issue, it still hasn’t given an update on when the issue might be fixed. The company will likely release an outdated update to fix it, which should probably happen faster than waiting for Samsung to release the next patch.
Today, Android Auto has a new avatar for cars, giving it more ammunition to compete with Apple CarPlay, which also works wirelessly through the iPhone. We’ll keep an eye out for updates from Google on fixing this issue and let you know when it happens.
